Dr. Rob Wood

As an experienced periodontist near North Salt Lake, Dr. Wood goes out of his way to deliver exceptional treatment to patients needing advanced, essential care.

Viewing dentistry as a way to help others while also still being able to spend ample time with his children, Dr. Wood pursued this particular field, appreciating the work/life balance it provides. Not only can he be fully present when he’s with his family, but he can also give 100% while working with his patients.

But before serving in his position at Utah Implants & Periodontics, he completed his bachelor’s degree at the University of Utah before going on to obtain a dental degree from the Temple University Kornberg School of Dentistry. After completing specialty training in periodontics at the University of Texas, he now serves as a board-certified periodontist.

Apart from his work inside the office, Dr. Wood remains an avid learner, seeking out the latest information and advancements in dentistry through the American Dental Association, SPEAR, Utah Dental Association, and the American Academy of Periodontology.

When he’s not in the office, you’re likely to find him spending much of his time with his wife, their four children, and their dog. He also loves being outdoors fishing and taking trips to nearby beaches and lakes.

Dr. Chase Richards

As a devoted periodontist near North Salt Lake, Dr. Richards enjoys being able to provide one-on-one attention to his patients. Always interested in healthcare, he opted to take a different route when pursuing a bachelor’s degree. Diving into the world of business, he focused on finance at Utah Valley University.

When meeting his wife, Ashley, who was studying dental hygiene, he found himself in her chair not only smitten with her but also with the field of dentistry. Through this process, he found that dentistry allowed him to build lasting relationships with patients and provide solutions that are designed to help and improve patients’ smiles.

Once completing his degree in finance, he went on to graduate from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry. Pursuing periodontics, he completed a periodontal residency at the Dental College of Georgia at Augusta University. During his time there, he completed extensive training in soft tissue grating, periodontics, dental implant treatment, periodontal regeneration, bone grafting and ridge augmentation, sinus augmentation, and IV sedation.

He remains an avid learner much like Dr. Wood and maintains memberships in the American Dental Association, the Utah Dental Association, the American Academy of Periodontology, and the Southern Academy of Periodontology.

Outside the office, Dr. Richards enjoys spending his free time with his wife and their four boys. They’re often out paddle boarding, kayaking, hiking, or making pizzas.

I came to Dr. Wood after some severe complications with my cosmetic dentistry. Hands down, he has the best bedside manner and patient rapport of any dental professional I've ever worked with. He and his assistant work hard from the second you sit in the chair to make you feel calm, heard, and tended to. He's knowledgeable but not condescending, patient, and seems committed to your comfort and peace of mind. I've since seen him for other procedures and he will be my periodontist as long as he's needed - I couldn't want for anyone better.
